Abigail held the letter from the bank and began to weep. Two weeks ago, her husband got a similar letter which came from work. Now, there seem to be no way out. They left their native country for the American dream eighteen years ago. Something is not right. Disgrace, humiliation, embarrassment seems to be in the horizon. She could feel the dark clouds closing in. Their first son looked at his mother and said, “mom, I can understand how darkness over the land of Egypt was serious that it may be felt.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
